Join us for a yoga class designed just for people who are new to yoga. You will practice yoga poses, breathing exercises, relaxation and meditation techniques. See how yoga can change your life. For teens and adults. Registration is requested: call or email us.

The practices of yoga, meditation, and breathing practices combine to form powerful tools to help us cope with the stressful world we live in. Join Valerie Kiser in a summer series of workshops to combat stress.Centering and focusing through Meditation: Sunday, July 19 @ 4 pm
- There are 4 individual workshops within the series. Attend 1 or all workshops; no pre-requisites.
- For beginners & experienced students.
- Sundays @ 4 - 6 pm
- $20/workshop if student registers at least 1 week in advance; $25 after. No transfers to other workshops.
- Minimum of 4 students must register at least 1 week in advance for workshop to be held.
Benefits of meditation include: enhanced focus and concentration; decreased tension, anxiety, and stress; lowered of blood pressure, heart rate, and cholesterol. The workshop will include practice of several types of meditation and discussion. Handouts will be provided.The power of the breath: Sunday, August 9 @ 4 pm
When the body and mind are agitated, the breath is rapid (or held), shallow, and irregular. When the body and mind are calm, the breath is slower, deeper, and rhythmical. Learn practices to harness the power of the breath to affect your mind and body in a positive way.Restorative Yoga: Sunday, September 20 @ 4 pm
Support the body in various poses on the floor to promote relaxation and rejuvenation. You will leave with reduced stress & tension and will have a restored sense of peace and calmness. In general, restorative poses are for those times when you feel weak, fatigued, or stressed from your daily activities. (taught by Valerie, Certified Relax & Renew Trainer)
This group meets monthly on a Friday evening or Sunday afternoon for food, discussion, and fun. The location varies in students' homes; please contact Valerie for location and directions. This is a free event and open to all levels of current students of Sunrise Yoga. You are welcome to join at any time: no background in yoga studies is required. Prior books we have read include: Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, A Path with Heart, The Seven Spiritual Laws of Yoga, Bhagavad Gita, Bringing Yoga to Life, Upanishads, Yoga: The Spirit and Practice of Moving into Stillness.

Celebrate the Summer and Winter Solstices. We do this every June and December on a Sunday near the solstice. Led by Larry Schonhofen. For yoga teachers & experienced students. Join us for this memorable and challenging experience. Participation is free, but we ask participants to bring money to donate to the Clemmons Food Pantry. Visit the 108 web page to view photos and money raised from prior years.

If you cancel at least 7 days prior to a workshop, you may receive a full refund minus a 15% administration fee. There are no refunds for cancellations made less than 7 days prior unless your space is filled (if it is filled, you will receive a full refund minus a 15% administration fee). No refunds are available for no-shows. Refunds are given by check and may take up to two weeks.
